The football season is back in full swing now with tables beginning to take shape and teams getting into their stride.

Nonetheless, there are still eight days left for clubs to bolster their squads before the transfer window closes on Monday, September 1 and a number of managers will be scouring the market until the last minute.

We'll keep you up to date with all the day's rumours and breaking transfers as they happen in Sports Mole's live transfer blog right throughout the day.

Hello, and good morning to Sports Mole's live transfer talk blog which will run right throughout today and late into the night as we bring you all the latest transfer stories. Before we get started though, why don't we take a look at the stories that have broken overnight that you may have missed.
Here are some of the stories that you may have missed throughout the night:

Angel di Maria 'on verge of completing Manchester United transfer'
North London rivals want Danny Welbeck?
Report: Arsenal to seal £12m Sami Khedira move
Report: Napoli lodge £10m Sandro bid
Arsenal 'turned down Mario Balotelli twice'

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Irvine wants to add more flair to his side after seeing them draw their opening two games this season, and has targeted 'a couple of creative players'.
There's been no secret made about Sunderland's desire to bring Fabio Borini to the club, but reports are now suggesting that Gus Poyet also wants to bring the Italian's teammate Sebastian Coates to the club on a temporary basis.
If you haven't already heard, Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a £56m deal to bring Real Madrid's Angel di Maria to the club. But Louis van Gaal isn't finished there. Reports this morning also suggest that Daley Blind and Nigel de Jong - who were integral in the Netherlands's run to the World Cup semi-final this summer - will join up with their former international boss before the end of the transfer window.
News from Premier League newboys Leicester City now, and reports have suggested that Argentine veteran Esteban Cambiasso has flown to the UK to discuss a deal with the Foxes.
There's bad news for Hull City though. They were reportedly after the signature of winger Vincent Aboubakar, but the Cameroon international has joined Porto on a four-year deal.
And here is the tweet from Porto's official account confirming the transfer:

Manchester City are a club with seemingly unlimited reserves of cash, but even they were surprised when Everton reportedly quoted them £50m for Ross Barkley earlier this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bolster his defence it seems, and reports this morning suggest that the club's director of football Paulo Baldini went to watch Basel's Fabian Schar in action this week.
West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Irvine wants to bring Porto winger Silvestre Varela to the Baggies, according to reports.
Now here's a blast from the past: Quincy Owusu-Abeyie. The former Arsenal wideman is close to joining Championship side Blackpool, according to reports.
That's all from me for today, but I'll leave you in the very capable hands of Pascal Lemesre for the next three hours, so don't go anywhere!
Thank you, Kristian. The big story today is of course whether Manchester United will part with a British-record fee for Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria. The latest ex-player to weigh in with his opinion is former United hitman Dwight Yorke, who says that the Argentinian is just what the Red Devils need.
More from the Bernabeu, with Real boss Carlo Ancelotti revealing the future of two of his players. The Italian confirms that Di Maria is off, but insists that Sami Khedira is happy to stay, despite rumours of a move to Arsenal.
After failing to make an impact with the Hammers last season, it looks like Modibo Maiga will be loaned out to Metz in France for the entirety of the 2014-15 campaign.
1PM TRANSFER TALK UPDATE! After a busy morning of news and rumour, here's our lunchtime roundup of the headlines.
It has been widely reported recently that Lukas Podolski could leave Arsenal this window with first-team opportunities at a premium for the Gunners this season. The latest club to be linked with a move for the German are Italian champions Juventus. Read more here.
DONE DEAL! In the Championship, Brighton & Hove Albion announce the signing of striker Adrian Colunga from Getafe for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old has big boots to fill after Leonardo Ulloa was poached by Leicester City earlier this summer. Full story here.

After losing some key players this summer, Atletico Madrid are still trying to improve their squad. Inter Milan's Ricky Alvarez is a target, but their loan move has reportedly stalled as the Italians want a permanent transfer.
Poor old Paddy Kenny is without a club at the moment after 'mutually' leaving Leeds United earlier this month. The veteran stopper could find a new home at Oldham Athletic, though.
Newcastle United may have brought in a raft of new signings this summer already, but manager Alan Pardew says that he is still interested in recruiting more players before the window slams shut.
Norwich City striker Gary Hooper has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, but he could remain in the Championship with Reading reportedly interested in his services.
One man who could be on the move between now and the close of the transfer window in eight days' time is Manchester City defender Micah Richards. He has been linked with plenty of clubs this summer, with West Ham United the latest side said to be interested.
Steve Bruce has this afternoon revealed that Hull City have agreed a 'deal in principle' to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson. The Tigers are not likely to pursue their interest in Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes, however, with Bruce admitting that a transfer is "further away than ever". You can read the comments in full by clicking here.

Stoke City's Jack Butland could be on his way to Championship side Bolton Wanderers if this report is anything to go by. The young goalkeeper has failed to oust Asmir Begovic as number one in recent times.
Sticking with the Premier League, and another play who looks increasingly likely to move to pastures new this summer is Manchester City's Alvaro Negredo. One report suggests that La Liga outfit Valencia want to bring the former Sevilla man back to Spain.
DONE DEAL! West Bromwich Albion have this evening completed the signing of Silvestre Varela on loan from Porto. Find out more on this deal by clicking here.
Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has this evening sent a tweet wishing Angel di Maria good luck during his time in Manchester. You can follow the latest developments on this transfer story by clicking here.

Before I hand over to Sian Cowper there is just enough time to point you in the direction of our 7pm Transfer Talk Update, which tonight includes all the latest on Lukas Podolski, Micah Richards, Michael Dawson, and all the other top transfer stories from across the globe. Over to you, Sian...
Thanks Daniel. One of the biggest stories of the week has been Mario Balotelli's proposed move to Liverpool. With the transfer set to be confirmed in the next couple of days, AC Milan head coach Filippo Inzaghi insists that his side will grow in team spirit without the Italian international.
Sunderland have been trying to secure the permanent signing of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini this summer, following his loan spell with the club last season. Manager Gus Poyet admits that the deal has taken "too long" to conclude.
Manchester United are reported to have agreed a British record fee for Angel di Maria this evening. However, manager Louis van Gaal kept quiet when asked about the speculation after his side's draw with Sunderland earlier today.
Earlier we brought you an update on Sunderland's pursuit of Fabio Borini. Well, it now seems that the Black Cats are making contingency plans in case they don't get their man, reportedly preparing a bid for Lille striker Saloman Kalou.
Preston North End could have a difficult time keeping hold of midfielder Josh Brownhill. The teenager is believed to have been watched by scouts from four Premier League sides in recent weeks, and could make the move to the top flight before deadline day.
Southampton have seen several players leave the club this summer, but it looks like they're hoping to bring in some new faces before the window closes, as latest reports suggest that they have made a £12m bid for Tottenham's Andros Townsend.
Well that's all from me this evening, but Christopher Dodd will be here for the next few hours to keep you up to date with all the latest developments.
Thanks Sian. Evening all, I'll be taking you through until the end of today's Transfer Talk blog. One club who have found it slightly difficult to bring in players this summer are Premier League new boys Burnley. Coach Sean Dyche has been speaking about how big money deals in the Championship have impacted on his side's spending during the current window. You can read what he's had to say here.
Arsenal fans might be rejoicing after an inspired comeback to draw 2-2 against Everton this weekend, but the performance also raised questions about a possible lack of strength in midfield. Arsene Wenger could look to change that though, with a report in the press linking him with a possible move for Wolfsburg holding man Luiz Gustavo.
That's all from us this evening, folks. Be sure to join us in the morning as the summer transfer window heads into its final week. I'm sure we'll have more news on Angel di Maria's proposed moved to Manchester United too...
