Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale has postponed his exit from the club for another season in order to climb further up the list of Serie A's all-time leading goalscorers.
The 37-year-old announced in February that he was going to leave Udinese at the end of the campaign, with South America mooted as a possible destination for the Italian.
Di Natale currently has 206 league goals to his name, placing him in sixth place on Serie A's list of record marksmen. Ten more goals will see the forward move up to joint-fourth, and he believes that reaching that target will be made possible by staying at the Stadio Friuli.
"When you break records and reach certain goals, you immediately want to achieve others," Di Natale, who has found the net 14 times this season, told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I now have two great champions just ahead of me. My desire to play and show my quality on the pitch has really returned."
Udinese are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Roma in the league.
