Kaiserslautern have beaten Union Berlin in the third round of the DFB Pokal Cup.
The first chance of the match came when Florian Dick's shot was kept out by Daniel Haas.
Union Berlin responded well, but were soon 1-0 down. Enis Alushi whipped in a corner and Willi Orban got up well to head in.
Olivier Occean went close to extending the away side's lead, but fired wide when well placed.
Alushi had a shot saved by Haas and Simon Zoller missed with a header as Kaiserslautern pushed forward near the end of the first half.
Their pressure paid off when Zoller found the back of the net from close range in first-half stoppage time.
Simon Terodde saw his shot from inside the box saved by Tobias Sippel as the home side looked to reduce the deficit.
Adam Nemec also went close, but again found Sippel in good form. Torsten Mattuschka hit the post for Union Berlin, but they conceded a third when Marcel Gaus hammered into the top corner.
