Second-half goals from substitute Mamdou Samassa and Renaud Cohade gave Valenciennes FC a 2-0 victory over FC Lorient.
The win means Les Atheniens stay in 10th spot in Ligue 1, three points clear of Evian TG.
Samassa made an instant impact after coming on as a substitute for the returning David Ducourtioux.
Renaud Cohade then wrapped up the points with an 81st-minute goal.
Defeat means Christian Gourcuff's team are without a league win in nine games and languish in 13th place.
Lorient take on Rennes at home next week, while Valenciennes make the trip to the Stade Auguste Bonal to face bottom side Sochaux.
