West Midlands Police have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of attacking a Watford fan in Wolverhampton.
A 44-year-old man is currently in an induced coma with a severe head injury after he was the victim of an unprovoked assault following Watford's 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
Officers are appealing for more information as their investigation continues.
"Detectives have today arrested a teenager in connection with an assault on a Watford fan following the Wolverhampton Wanderers match at the weekend," read an official statement. "The 18-year-old was arrested from a house in Wednesfield at around 4am on suspicion of wounding."
Over £18,000 has been raised via an online appeal to help the victim of the attack.
