Watford manager Gianfranco Zola has revealed that he has been assured he will be given time to achieve success at Vicarage Road.
The Chelsea legend was appointed the Hornets boss in the summer following the Pozzo family's takeover of the club.
"[I joined] for two reasons - England and the project," Zola told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"My family wanted to come here, we have always been very comfortable. I like the ideas of [Giampaolo] Pozzo. He wants to create another Udinese here in England.
"They have asked me for a season of adjustment. We will aim for a place in the playoffs and promotion next season."
Watford have picked up six points from four matches in the Championship so far this season.
