West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has described striker Brown Ideye as "like a new signing" after the Nigerian bagged a brace in Saturday's 4-0 FA Cup victory against West Ham United.
The 26-year-old was rumoured to be on his way out of The Hawthorns in January after scoring just twice in his first 17 games for the Baggies, but he now has four in three.
Pulis told The Birmingham Mail: "The difference is confidence. [Ideye] scored a goal and it's a weight off his shoulders. He has gone from strength to strength.
"It's like a new signing. He's scored a couple of goals and that's what the kid needed to do and he's no different to any striker.
"People in crucial positions on the pitch, they thrive off confidence. I'm very pleased for Browny because he's a good lad and ever since I've been here he's worked hard."
West Brom return to Premier League action next Saturday when they face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
