West Bromwich Albion have appointed experienced Italian sporting director Giuliano Terraneo as their new technical consultant.
The announcement was made soon after Albion had confirmed the departure of Nick Hammond, who had been in place as technical director since April 2016.
As part of the Baggies' ongoing restructuring process, Terraneo has now been brought on board ahead of the club's inevitable return to the second tier of English football.
However, the contract given to Terraneo - who most recently worked with Turkish giants Fenerbahce - will initially run for just six months before being reviewed.
Speaking to his new side's official website, the 64-year-old said: "I am pleased to be able to accept the opportunity to help the club and its owners in the work ahead.
"West Bromwich Albion is a club with its own personality and it is important that everyone we recruit wants to work to that."
Terraneo has also previously been employed by Monza, Lazio and Inter Milan in his Italian homeland.
