Stoke City boss Mark Hughes was disappointed with his side's turgid start in their Premier League defeat to West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.
West Brom took the lead in the 19th minute thanks to a Brown Ideye header and Stoke were playing catch up until the end of the match at The Hawthorns.
"It wasn't good enough today," Hughes told BBC Sport. "We started slowly, conceded an early goal and didn't really improve.
"There's no point me trying to dress it up differently. West Brom coped comfortably with our threat, which was minimal. We hope today was just one of those games."
Ideye's fifth goal in his last eight games saw Tony Pulis beat the team that he managed for seven years from 2006 until 2013.
