Experienced midfielder Zoltan Gera is reportedly close to signing a new long-term contract with West Bromwich Albion.
The 34-year-old, whose previous deal ended this summer, is still working his way back to fitness after suffering a cruciate knee injury in January.
He had been free to depart the Baggies last month, but the midfielder was invited on the club's pre-season tour, where he reportedly impressed boss Steve Clarke.
According to Sky Sports News, club officials are preparing to offer Gera a new one-year contract to keep him out of the clutches of other clubs.
A number of Championship clubs are believed to be monitoring proceedings.
