Wolverhampton Wanderers continued their hunt for promotion to the Championship this evening, as they overcame Swindon Town with a comfortable 4-1 victory at the County Ground.
The visitors went ahead in under 10 minutes thanks to striker Bakary Sako, who then set up Nouha Dicko to double their advantage, before the striker returned to secure a brace just before half time.
The hosts did manage to pull one back through Michael Smith, though Leon Clarke was on hand late on to add the gloss to a confident performance from the visitors.
The chasing pack did their best to keep up the pressure on the league leaders, however, with second-placed Leyton Orient claiming a 2-0 victory over Port Vale, while Brentford also rose victorious having beaten Tranmere Rovers 2-0 at home.
The MK Dons did their best to further their pursuit for a promotion place as they beat Notts County 3-1 away from home, with the Dons being boosted by a Peterborough United slip-up, as they lost 2-1 at home to Bristol City.
Down at the bottom, Stevenage's poor run may have met a watershed moment as they grabbed a late 1-1 draw at home to Preston North End, leaving them in 22nd place, though Shrewsbury also picked up a potentially vital point with a 1-1 draw at home to Crawley Town.
