Connor Jennings scores a stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a point for Wrexham in a six-goal thriller with Guiseley.

A 92nd-minute equaliser from Connor Jennings rescued a point for Wrexham in their National League clash with Guiseley at the Racecourse Ground this evening.

The visitors went into the match having failed to score in their last three outings, but they took just three minutes to end that barren spell by taking the lead.

Gavin Rothery was the man to get the goal for Guiseley, firing a low shot past Cameron Belford on the first meaningful attack of the game.

Chances were relatively sparse at either end of the field until the hosts levelled things up 20 minutes later as Dominic Vose took advantage of a slip from Ryan Toulson to beat the full-back before curling his finish in off the post.

That seemed to spark Gary Mills's side into life, and only a fine stop from Steve Drench prevented Adam Smith from giving his side the lead when one on one with the keeper.

Wrexham wouldn't have to wait long for their second goal, however, as Vose doubled his personal tally having robbed a dithering Toulson of possession.

The hosts, looking for their first win since September 19, continued to look the most likely to add another and almost did so early in the second half when Mark Carrington attempted to turn in Jennings's header back across goal.

Guiseley soon began to grow into the game once again, though, and only a last-ditch challenge from Manny Smith on George Maris kept Wrexham ahead.

Liam Dickinson was introduced off the bench for the visitors and made an immediate impact, smashing a free kick against the crossbar with his first touch of the match.

The warning signs continued to arrive for Wrexham as Guiseley began to gain an element of control over proceedings, but they failed to heed them and the away side were back level shortly after Adam Boyes had fired over from close range.

Dickinson was the man to equalise, touching home Rothery's cross, and the influential sub turned provider to help his side back into the lead as his hold-up play set up Boyes, who finished with aplomb.

The home side were given a boost in their hopes of turning things around once again when Rothery was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Carrington, and they managed to rescue a point when Jennings grabbed the late equaliser from inside the box.

The result means that Wrexham, who are now without a win in six, move up a place to 13th, while Guiseley, themselves winless in four stay down in 18th.
