Jason Day has remained afloat at the top of the Bridgestone Invitational standings heading into the final round of play.
The world number one followed up his second-round 69 with an identical score on Saturday to share the lead with Scott Piercy.
A poor drive at the last saw Piercy's bogey-free run come to an end, opening the door for Day to pounce and keep his position at the summit, while Dustin Johnson carded 66 to move within three of the lead.
Johnson recovered from a poor showing on Friday, in which he carded 73, but he failed to keep the momentum going on the 14th hole as he dropped his first shot of the day.
That leaves Piercy and Day ahead as the frontrunners in Ohio, although the latter will feel as though he should be the outright leader after falling short from 12 feet on the final hole to miss out on edging ahead of his opponent.
