Everton have confirmed that a group of their supporters were "attacked" by around 50 local men while at a bar in Lille ahead of tonight's Europa League group tie.
The Merseyside outfit have claimed that two of the Toffees supporters were taken to hospital following the incident on Wednesday after suffering minor facial injuries.
A statement on the club's official website said: "[The attack] was the only incident in what was otherwise a good-natured evening in the city centre.
"The club are in continual contact with Merseyside police officers who are in Lille today and the city's police representatives."
Everton are currently at the top of Group H with four points.
