World number one golfer Rory McIlroy has revealed that he will parade the Claret Jug at the home of Manchester United, Old Trafford, this weekend to mark his achievements this summer.
The Northern Irishman, who is a Red Devils supporter, earned the trophy after winning his first British Open title last month at Hoylake.
On Sunday, McIlroy secured back-to-back major wins by clinching the US PGA Championship title with a one-shot victory over Phil Mickelson.
Prior to United's opening Premier League fixture against Swansea City, McIlroy will show off his silverware to the club's following.
"I will go to Old Trafford for the first game of the season on Saturday and bring the Claret Jug with me," The Mirror. "That will be a great thrill and then come back over to the States and get ready for the FedEx Cup."
McIlroy has won four major titles at the age of 25.
