Swansea City are issued with a full apology from kit manufacturer Adidas, who failed to deliver the club's home shirt or training kit on schedule.

Adidas have been forced to make an apology today after failing to meet a deadline agreed with Swansea City for the release of the club's new home shirt and training kit.

Swansea were due to start selling both of their new strips for the 2013-14 campaign at a kit launch in South Wales tomorrow, but have been forced to announce that an unforeseen delay will prevent supporters from purchasing either shirt this weekend.

An official statement from Adidas released this evening read as follows: "Adidas wishes to sincerely apologise to the club and all Swansea City fans.

"Unfortunately there has been a delay with the delivery of the new 2013-2014 adult home shirt and some items from the new 2013-14 Swansea City training wear range due to a situation which regrettably Adidas has been unable to rectify in time for the scheduled launch.

"Adidas is immensely proud of our partnership with Swansea City Football Club and we are working extremely hard to ensure this situation is resolved quickly and efficiently. We would like to put on record how sorry we are for any inconvenience caused to the fans and the club by the delay in Adidas delivering these items."

Swans vice-chairman Leigh Dineen admitted that the problem was a huge disappointment for the club, with an official release date for the home shirt still not agreed with Adidas at this stage.
