Two tries from Patrick Ah Van have helped Widnes Vikings to a 24-10 win over Wigan Warriors in the Super League this evening.
Ah Van made the most of an early break for the home side, going over in the corner just six minutes into the tie, before Paddy Flynn added a second inside the opening 15 minutes.
The defending champions responded well to reduce the deficit, with Dom Manfredi and Josh Charnley both scoring tries in a bright three-minute spell for Wigan.
However, Ah Van caught the Warriors out again at the start of the second half, finding a gap to add his second try of the evening.
It got worse for the visitors shortly after as Liam Farrell was sent to the sin bin for a late tackle while Widnes were looking to kick the ball, ending their hopes of a comeback.
The result moves Widnes up to seventh in the table, just one place behind Wigan.
