A strong second-half performance by Clermont Auvergne saw last year's beaten finalists defeat Scarlets 32-11 in the Heineken Cup this afternoon.
There was little between the two sides in the first half, as Brock James added two penalties to give the French outfit a narrow lead over the visitors.
However, the hosts upped their game after the break, as Jamie Cudmore and Clement Ric both scored tries, while Napolioni Nalaga added a brace to secure victory for Clermont.
Rhodri Williams managed to find the try line in the 78th minute to give the Welsh side a late consolation and their only try of the day.
The result moves Clermont top in their pool, while Scarlets slip to second.
