Professional Game Board chairman Ian Metcalfe has expressed his 'disappointment and frustration' in the leaking of confidential World Cup reports covering England's campaign.
The reports, which were leaked to The Times, include information stating that a number of England players were more concerned with the money than playing for their country.
The reports also claimed that a number of players were unhappy with Martin Johnson's tactics during the tournament in New Zealand.
"It is disappointing and frustrating," said Metcalfe.
"The confidential reports submitted to the PGB have been put into the public domain when all involved were promised that their views would remain private for the ultimate goal of improving the England team.
"The reporting of selective elements of those documents are also counterproductive to that aim."
Meanwhile, the Rugby Football Union are continuing their search for a new England coach after Martin Johnson's departure last week.
