Transport for London and broadcaster ITV have joined together to provide a live-scores service throughout the Rugby World Cup, which gets underway on Friday.
TfL, which introduced a similar service for the football World Cup last year, will stream news, scores and results to London commuters across over 180 Tube and DLR lines.
The updates will appear on the digital information boards at the entrances of stations and on the platforms during the six-week tournament.
Women's Rugby World Cup winner Maggie Alphonsi, who unveiled the service at Southwark Tube station today, said: "The match scheduling means that there will be plenty of commuters travelling on the London Underground at crucial moments throughout the tournament, who might otherwise miss out on the action.
"This is a brilliant way to keep fans up to date during the big games, when they are not able to watch them live on ITV or ITV Player."
Until the tournament kicks off on Friday between England and Fiji, the boards will display countdown messages.
