Gloucester held on for a 28-23 win over Saracens in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon, despite a strong finish by the visitors.
Two first-half tries from Jonny May put the home side in a strong position early on, but a Joel Tomkins score ensured that Saracens were just five points down at the break.
Ben Morgan increased Gloucester's advantage in the second period, but the visitors had a chance to get back into the match when Dan Robson was sent to the sin bin.
The league leaders made the most of the extra man, as Tomkins crossed the whitewash again to reduce the hosts' lead.
However, a Freddie Burns penalty in the last minute sealed the win for Gloucester, leaving them just outside the playoff places.
