Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill has paid tribute to lock Louis Deacon following his retirement.
The 34-year-old, who made over 270 appearances for the club, announced on Tuesday that he would be hanging up his boots with immediate effect.
After enjoying a successful career at Welford Road, Cockerill has credited Deacon for being an integral part of the club.
"Deacs is the epitome of the Leicester lad who came through at his hometown club to play at the very highest level of the game," he told the Tigers' official website. "He has been a central part of what makes this club tick for a long time."
Leicester are back in Aviva Premiership action on Sunday when they make the trip to London Irish.
