Milan confirm that Gennaro Gattuso is improving after an eye disorder.

AC Milan have confirmed that midfielder Gennaro Gattuso is improving after undergoing surgery for an eye disorder.

The 33-year-old has not played since early September after he was diagnosed with sixth nerve palsy, a condition which affects the movement of the eye.

"AC Milan would like to inform that Gattuso has undergone a medical examination with specialist Emilio Campus at the Sant'Orsola hospital, in Bologna," read a club statement.

"It was evident that he has made significant progress and the player has received the definitive go-ahead to participate in training sessions with the squad."

Gattuso has been with the Rossoneri since 1999.
