Two teams who could certainly do with a victory face off at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium on Friday as Al Riyadh and Al Okhdood lock horns.

The hosts have won just one of their four matches this term, while the visitors are currently on a dismal run of three defeats on the bounce.

Al Riyadh fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Al Raed when the teams went head-to-head at the King Abdullah Stadium on Monday evening.

A first-half double from Mohammed Fouzair saw Yannick Ferrera's men head into the interval on the back foot, after which Amir Sayoud put the final nail in the coffin midway through the second half.

As a result, Al Riyadh have dropped down to 11th place in the Saudi Pro League table and are now only one point clear of the bottom three.

Coming up next is the task of facing off against an opposing outfit with little to choose between the sides from the previous two meetings, which have yielded one win apiece.

Al Okhdood were on the receiving end of an agonising 1-0 loss against Al Taawon in Tuesday's encounter at the Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City.

Jorge Mendonca's men conceded a late first-half opener from Mateus, and that turned out to be the all-important moment in a largely one-sided affair.

With just one point amassed from their four matches so far, the Najran-based side remain rooted to the bottom of the standings and are in need of a pick-me-up.

Winless on enemy territory since April, Friday's visitors will be keen to get going away from home as they look to recover from what has been a poor start to the season.

Bouly Sambou will have to wait a little longer for his first appearance as an Al Riyadh player as he continues to battle with a muscle problem.

The home side also have to make do with the absence of midfielder Hussain Ali Alnowaiqi, who has been sidelined for each of the last two matches.

Al Okhdood's Alex Collado made an immediate return to action from a one-game suspension last time out and the Spaniard is expected to feature once again.

Twenty-five-year-old Ahmed Mostafa was absent from his side's defeat to Al Taawon through injury, making him a doubt to play any part here.
