Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin is ready to sign a new deal at the Vicente Calderon stadium, according to reports.
The 29-year-old was recently linked with a move to Manchester City, with rumours suggesting that Maneul Pellegrini was ready to meet his £28m release clause.
However, Godin will commit his future to Diego Simeone's side by signing an extension to his current deal, reports The Express.
Godin, who has 92 caps for Uruguay, has been with Atletico Madrid since 2010, chalking up over 150 appearances for the La Liga side.
He scored in the final of the 2013-14 Champions League against Real Madrid, but could not prevent his side from losing 4-1.
