Sports Mole takes a closer look at Bayern Munich's comfortable 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow.

Bayern Munich made it five wins from six Group E games by ending CSKA Moscow's qualification hopes with a 3-0 win at the Allianz Arena this evening.

Thomas Muller handed Bayern the lead in the 18th minute from the penalty spot, before late goals from Sebastian Rode and Mario Gotze secured a comfortable victory for Pep Guardiola's side.

Below, Sports Mole looks at the game's key talking points.

Was the result fair?

Bayern certainly deserved to collect all three points. It was all too easy for the hosts from the first whistle as CSKA struggled to disrupt the home side's passing rhythm. CSKA did have chances to make the game interesting in the first half, but their inability to convert was a big disappointment. In the second half, the win was never in doubt, and the visitors can have no arguments with the result.

Bayern's performance

It was a relatively easy night for Guardiola's side. In truth, the hosts never really got out of third gear, but with qualification secured weeks ago, their best was never required. Apart from the chances created by CSKA in the first half, Jerome Boateng and Dante were rarely troubled. It was a good night for teenage pair Pierre Hojbjerg and Gianluca Gaudino, who both looked comfortable on rare starts in midfield. Franck Ribery led the way in the first half, before making way to allow Arjen Robben to steal the show after the break.

If Bayern go on to win the competition, not many people will remember this win. However, it's clear that the German champions are looking strong this season. Bigger challenges are on the way for this side, but it was a good display from a team who would have been forgiven for losing focus on matchday six.

CSKA's performance

Leonid Slutsky may look back at this season's group stage as a missed opportunity. His side had the chance to edge out Manchester City and Roma, but key mistakes in the campaign have cost them. Seydou Doumbia was the guilty party this evening as he missed two great chances in the first half to boost the hopes of an unlikely victory for the visitors. On reflection, it was a decent display from CSKA, but they were always second best. The defence struggled to keep tabs on the Bayern forwards, while the midfielders found it difficult to get further forward. Better teams than CSKA will play worse at the Allianz Arena, but it's still a disappointing night for Slutsky and his players.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Arjen Robben: When the Dutchman was named on the bench, it seemed more likely that he would remain on the sidelines rather than come on to become man of the match. However, Robben was given the chance to shine when he was introduced at the start of the second half. Quite simply, CSKA just didn't know how to handle him. His tricky running and clever passing was a joy to watch in a stunning 45-minute cameo.

Biggest gaffe

Doumbia left Dante on the floor and fooled three other Bayern players with a clever run in the first half. However, he failed to add a finishing touch as he fired straight at Manuel Neuer. The miss would turn out to be vital.

Referee performance

Olegario Benquerenca did well to spot that Bebras Natcho had fouled Ribery in the box, and he would go on to enjoy a very comfortable evening.

What next?

Bayern: Augsburg will become the latest side to attempt to inflict a first Bundesliga defeat on Bayern when the two sides meet on Saturday afternoon.

CSKA: Slutsky's side begin their winter break as the Russian clubs prepare for a three-month spell without football.
