Brentford manager Thomas Frank has admitted it is an "open secret" that the club are prepared to sell Bayern Munich target David Raya for the right price.

Raya has been linked with a move away from West London throughout the summer window after refusing to extend his contract with Brentford.

Tottenham Hotspur were previously interested in the Spaniard, but they decided to turn their attention to Guglielmo Vicario after being put off by Brentford's £40m asking price.

Bayern have now emerged as the frontrunners to secure Raya's signature as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department.

Their long-term number one Manuel Neuer is still recovering from a long-term injury, while January signing Yann Sommer is closing in on a move to Inter Milan.

Thomas Tuchel is seemingly keen to recruit a goalkeeper that can offer competition to Neuer when he returns to full fitness.

With Bayern believed to be pursuing a move for Raya, Frank has conceded that Brentford are willing to sell Raya this summer.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Frank said: "He is a Brentford player so far as I know. It is an open secret we want to sell him for the right amount.

"He has been training hard, a good professional. He has been a top I can't praise him enough. Incredibly good in terms of being a top pro, training well and really, really good and positive.

"I think it's natural that he would like to leave if it's a good opportunity for him. We all think it's a good idea at the right price.

"That means probably means it is probably going towards that and we are focusing on the other keepers we have. It is a good dialogue and everything is in a fine place."

Frank declined to comment on whether Bayern had met Brentford's valuation, while he also indicated that Raya is unlikely to play against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Raya replaced summer signing Mark Flekken at half time of Brentford's 3-2 defeat to Fulham last weekend, but he did not feature against Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek.

After playing Aston Villa in the final game of the Premier League Summer Series, the Bees will wrap up their pre-season schedule at home to Lille on Saturday. body check tags ::
