Club Brugge reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League by seeing off Besiktas 3-1 in Thursday evening's last-16 second leg at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

Club Brugge have reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League by seeing off Besiktas 3-1 in this evening's last-16 second leg at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

The first concrete chance of the game fell to the hosts in the seventh minute as Veli Kavlak collected a Ramon Motta pass before firing a shot towards goal that keeper Matt Ryan saved.

Brugge pushed forward in the 12th minute through Jose Izquierdo, who forced a stop from Tolga Zengin, but the Black Eagles countered moments later with Gokhan Tore's effort.

A quiet spell then occurred as a series of fouls broke up play before Laurens De Bock's cross was headed just wide by Tom De Sutter midway through the first half.

Neither side was able to break the deadlock come the half-time whistle, but the hosts came out all guns blazing after the restart and opened the scoring through Motta's left-footed drive from distance in the 48th minute.

Besiktas were going through on away goals as it stood, but Brugge struck back on the hour as De Sutter slotted a low shot under Zengin to regain control of the tie.

Substitute Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo then put the game behind the hosts' reach when he ran through their defence before rounding Zengin and poking home.

The Belgian teenager then secured his second of the match at the death when he made the most of Necip Uysal's hesitation to bear down on goal and bury the ball past the keeper.

Besiktas's night went from bad to worse moments later as Olcay Sahan was shown a straight red for a late challenge to leave his side to see out the remainder of their European campaign with 10 men.
