Despite creating the better chances, Borussia Dortmund have been unable make a breakthrough in a goalless first half with Hannover at Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund, who have not recorded a victory in any of their last five Bundesliga matches, were given an early scare by the visitors when Leonardo Bittencourt fired just wide of the target.
Hannover shot-stopper Ron-Robert Zieler was forced into the first save of the game shortly after when Henrikh Mkhitaryan's effort from the edge of the box needed pushing to safety.
Dortmund continued to improve as the first match progressed, and Marco Reus came even closer to breaking the deadlock with a curling effort which drifted wide with Zieler looking helpless.
Reus was proving to be a constant threat to the Hannover defence, but Dortmund's frustration went on as the German playmaker sent a powerful strike over late in the first half after linking with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the edge of the box.
