Phil Parkinson: 'Bradford City not fearful of facing Reading in FA Cup quarters'

Phil Parkinson acknowledges that Bradford City's FA Cup quarter-final meeting with Reading this weekend will be a "special day" on a personal level.

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has admitted that he is "really looking forward" to returning to former club Reading this weekend as he looks to extend his side's impressive FA Cup run.

The Bantams produced one of the all-time great upsets in the competition when they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round, while they also proved too strong for Sunderland last time out.

That impressive triumph has paved the way for a quarter-final meeting with Reading - a club Parkinson has previously made more than 400 appearances for as a player - at Valley Parade on Saturday afternoon.

"For me personally, it will be a special day," he told reporters. "It's a game of real importance and I'm really looking forward to it. I was very honoured to be part of the club that moved from Elm Park to the Madejski Stadium and part of the development.

"Reading have a lot of players with Premier League and international experience, we're just looking forward to testing ourselves. We don't fear Reading but we definitely respect them. There is an air of confidence amongst the team and as individuals."

As well as beating Premier League duo Sunderland and Chelsea, Bradford have also overcome Millwall, Dartford and Halifax Town in previous rounds.
