There were no goals in the first half of the Championship clash between Burnley and Ipswich Town at Turf Moor this afternoon.
The home side came close to taking the lead inside the opening minute when Danny Ings played the ball in for Scott Arfield, but his volley was blocked.
Ipswich also had a sight of goal early on when Jonathan Williams set up Daryl Murphy for a low strike, but Ben Mee managed to make the clearance.
The visitors had a chance cleared off the line just short of the half-hour mark when Tommy Smith tried to head in from close range following a Frazer Richardson free kick, but Kieran Trippier was back on the line to keep it out.
Dean Gerken had to remain alert as half time approached when Ashley Barnes unleashed a powerful strike from long range, but the Ipswich keeper watched it all the way to make the save.
Mick McCarthy's side finished the opening period strongly, with chances inside the final five minutes for Luke Chambers and Richardson, but they could not edge ahead before the half-time whistle.
