Good afternoon everyone. These crucial games between sides close to the relegation zone just keep on coming, don't they? Burnley host Crystal Palace at Turf Moor today as both managers look for three more vital points in the battle to avoid the drop.

A week after securing a 2-1 win over another rival, Queens Park Rangers, Burnley will be desperate to pick up more points against another side who are in a similar situation. In truth, both of these sides will take 17th spot after 38 games. It's game like this which often decide your fate in the Premier League.

It may have been a slightly unexpected win, but the three points were equally valuable for Crystal Palace last Saturday as they came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in Alan Pardew's first game in charge. How much longer can the honeymoon period go on for?

Make no mistake, it's been a great start to life at Palace for Pardew. A win over Dover Athletic in the FA Cup came as no surprise at all, but that win over Spurs could be the key for the Eagles as they look to go on an extended run of good form. Selhurst Park was bouncing a week ago, and the challenge for the players will be to take that momentum into this game.

No surprises from Sean Dyche. The Burnley manager names the same side which beat QPR last week, with Ashley Barnes and Danny Ings continuing their partnership in attack as Sam Vokes is once again forced to settle for a spot on the bench. Jason Shackell, George Boyd, Dean Marney and Ings are all back in the starting lineup after being rested in the FA Cup defeat to Spurs in midweek.

Pardew makes two changes to his side as Yaya Sanogo starts in attack after joining on loan from Arsenal earlier this week. Wilfried Zaha's reward for an impressive display from the bench against Spurs is a return to the starting lineup as Glenn Murray and Barry Bannan drop out.

As you may have already heard, there was a pitch inspection at Turf Moor earlier today. There's been plenty of snow overnight, but the pitch is in good condition, and the areas surrounding the ground have been cleared to make sure it is safe for supporters. However, we are expecting more snow at some stage this afternoon.

After mentioning Burnley's FA Cup defeat to Spurs earlier this week, you have to wonder whether that result has had an impact on the confidence in the squad. 2-0 up within just a few minutes before losing would have certainly disappointed Dyche, but he'll be hoping that the decision to leave out a few key players will benefit the side today. Everyone at the club knows avoiding relegation is the aim, even if that loss was a big source of frustration.

It's said every week, but Burnley's key man once again today will be Ings. The speculation surrounding his future continues as he prepares to possible become a free agent in the summer. Real Sociedad are reportedly the latest club to join the race. Most importantly for Burnley, it appears that he will be at the club for the rest of the season. If he was to leave you'd fear for the Clarets. Ings scores goal, and he netted another to beat QPR last week. Can he lead the Clarets to safety?

Can Sanogo be a success at Palace? Pardew has already warned us that we should not only be judging his new signing on goals, which is a bit of a concern for a striker. Arsene Wenger believes that the Frenchman has the quality to succeed at the highest level, but we haven't seen enough evidence of it yet. Pardew will be desperate to get the best out of him. It could be Dwight Gayle who benefits the most from playing alongside the forward, who can attract more intention with his sixe and strength.

Speaking of getting the best out of a player, Pardew has been having his say on Zaha this week. The Palace boss believes that the winger has been unlucky since his move to Manchester United, but he is confident of helping him improving enough to find a spot at Old Trafford.

I think he's an important player, and in terms of finding himself at perhaps the biggest club in the world, bar one or two, and not getting an opportunity and having to come back to his former club, I think that's difficult," Pardew told reporters.

"I'll do my best to raise his profile, and his spirit for us and for Manchester United, because I'm sure they've got one eye on him to still be a success for them."

Burnley have lost only one of their last six Premier League home matches (W3, D2, L1), conceding just four goals during that run. The home form will be vital. It's starting to become a tough place to visit for away sides, and the fans will play a big part in games like this one.

Delaney climbs high to head clear when Marney targets Barnes with a diagonal ball. Palace comfortable clear a corner which follows a few moments later.

Excellent defending from Trippier, who really does impress every week for Burnley if you've not seen much of him this season. The full back is threatened by the pace of Zaha, but he times his tackle well before winning a free kick for his side.

The Clarets break the deadlock, and it could be a big goal. Arfield sends a corner towards the back post and the delivery catches Speroni out of position, allowing Mee to head home the opener. It's very poor goalkeeping from Speroni, but Burnley won't care.

That was the first chance of the game. There's been very little sign of attacking intent from either side, but Palace will have to produce a reaction now. Dyche will be keen to see Burnley remain on the front foot.

Burnley double their lead as the snow starts to fall at Turf Moor. Ings continues his fine season by scoring for the third successive game as he runs onto a clever through ball from Arfield before calmly slotting past Speroni. Arfield deserves plenty of credit for winning the ball and setting up the chance, and Ings will not miss those kind of chances.

YELLOW CARD! Dann picks up the first booking of the afternoon for a late challenge on Barnes. Burnley are in complete control.

A good run on the wing from Zaha ends with Palace winning a corner. The first delivery is cleared, but the visitors keep the pressure on and work the ball to Gayle, who fires just wide from the edge of the box.

Two chances, two goals for Burnley, and that start has certainly made life difficult for Palace, who just haven't settled at Turf Moor. Another corner comes in from Zaha, but Arfield clears with a volley at the front post. Poor from Zaha.

Palace are starting to see more of the ball now, but the end product has been poor so far, despite Zaha starting brightly. Sanogo has barely had a touch, and that's not helping Gayle either.

Palace are back in the game! Zaha does brilliantly on the wing to earn space, and his cross is much better on this occasion. McArthur fails to add the finishing touch as Heaton makes a decent save, but Gayle finds himself in the right position to fire home.

How will Burnley react? They looked comfortable at 2-0, but Palace have come back impressively. We could be in for a few more goals this afternoon judging by this start.

That goal has certainly given Palace some confidence, but they've struggled to make further progress since reducing the deficit. Burnley have attempted to slow the tempo in the past few minutes. It's a battle in midfield at the moment.

Trippier and Mee combine well to clear when Zaha targets Sanogo in the middle of the box. Palace clear the corner which follows a few moments later. Burnley will be desperate to be ahead at the break.

Palace really are on top now, and they clearly feel that Zaha is the key on the right wing. He's seeing plenty of the ball as Palace go in search of an equaliser. Burnley may need to change their plans for him.

It looks like there's been a change in the last few minutes, with Gayle drifting out wide to allow Puncheon to come into the middle. I'm not sure how long that will last. Gayle is at his best when he is looking for space in the box. Ward sends a shot over the crossbar after linking up with the influential Zaha.

Palace break forward in numbers, but the chance is wasted as Sanogo's attempted pass to Zaha is cut out and Heaton comes off his line to collect.

SAVE! Poor from Burnley. McArthur is offered too much space to come forward from midfield, and he responds by unleashing a low shot which is comfortably saved by Heaton.

Since falling behind to goals from Mee and Ings, Palace have come back impressively and reduced the deficit through Gayle. However, Burnley have done enough to hold onto their lead heading into the interval. There's a big 45 minutes coming up.

Pardew will be appealing for more of the same after seeing Palace control proceedings in the latter stages of the first half. Zaha has been very good, but others have struggled with their end product in the final third of the pitch. Burnley's defence have battled impressively under pressure.

STAT: Danny Ings scored to make it three goals in his last three league games. That's the first time the forward has managed to do that for Burnley.

BENCH WATCH: Palace have Glenn Murray, who started against Spurs, on the bench if Pardew is thinking of replacing Sanogo, who has been forced to play a supporting role for most of the game.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Dyche turns to Sam Vokes in the second half. The focus will be on protecting the lead, but Vokes can provide a different threat in attack.

Both of these sides started the day on 20 points, and climbing to around 13th is a possibility at the end of this game. Palace have a lot of work to do if they are going to get the win. At 2-1, the next goal is going to be vital.

Shackell foolishly brings down McArthur to give Palace a free kick in a good position. Puncheon delivers the cross, but it's too strong for anyone to add the finishing touch in the box. Burnley haven't started in the second half.

Just a few days after throwing a two-goal lead away at White Hart Lane, Burnley have done the same against Palace. Dyche will learn a lot about these players in the second half. The hosts need to find a way to get Barnes and Ings involved.

Ings wastes a good opportunity for Burnley as he finds space on the wing before delivering a cross which is too firm for his teammates in the box.

The signs are suggesting that neither side will be happy with the draw. It's a very open game at the moment as midfielders look to get involved in attacks. There's still goals in this game.

Burnley are starting to apply more pressure on the Palace defence, but they're finding it difficult to create opportunities. It could be time for a change soon. Pardew will be much more pleased with his side's defensive display in the second half.

CHANCE! Sanogo must do better. Gayle delivers an excellent cross from a free kick on the wing, but the French forward doesn't react quickly enough and the ball hits Shackell before drifting just wide of the post.

YELLOW CARD! Shackell picks up a booking from referee Phil Dowd. Palace then threaten again when Puncheon delivers a ball into the box, but Heaton comes off his line to collect.

Clever football from Ings and Arfield, and the latter does well to spot the run of Trippier. However, Puncheon is back to make a crucial interception, much to the delight of the visiting fans.

Sanogo attempts to use his size to hold up the ball further up the pitch, but he's left furious when Phil Dowd blows for a foul. It's been a lot of hard work without much quality from the forward today.

Zaha has been quiet for an extended spell, which is good news for Burnley fans. The winger collects the ball in space, but he points at the pitch when a poor cross drifts out of play. We believe you, Wilfried.

SUBSTITUTION: Pardew makes first change of the game as Adlene Guedioura comes on to replace Zaha, who has drifted out of the game.

Palace push Burnley back again, but the hosts relieve the pressure when Keane rises highest to clear Puncheon's cross.

SUBSTITUTION: Here comes the change we expected as Vokes comes off the bench to replace Barnes in attack. Sanogo then goes into the book for a foul on Trippier.

We've not seen much of this partnership this season, but the connection is still there. Ings drops deeper to find a yard of space before sliding the ball into the path of Vokes, who is dispossessed by Ward as he looks to unleash a shot.

CHANCE! A free kick into the box looks to be sent into the wrong area, but Shackell keeps the pressure on. The ball drops to Keane, whose controls and volleys but McArthur is in the right place to clear off the line. Ward picked up a yellow card moments earlier.

SUBSTITUTION: Sanogo's debut is over as Murray is given the task to find a late winner for Palace.

The snow is really coming down now at Turf Moor. It's fun to watch, but probably not as enjoyable to play in. A winner would be so valuable for either of these teams. There's still time for a late twist.
