Sports Mole previews Crystal Palace's Premier League trip to relegation rivals Burnley as Alan Pardew seeks to maintain his winning start as Eagles manager.

Crystal Palace will be hoping that the Alan Pardew effect will inspire them to victory over Burnley in their bottom-of-the-table clash at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Eagles have won both of their matches since Pardew quit Newcastle United to take charge and are unbeaten in four following Neil Warnock's sacking.

A 4-0 FA Cup third-round thumping of non-League Dover Athletic was a freebie for Pardew first up, but the come-from-behind win against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend was true evidence that the 53-year-old has got the Selhurst Park outfit going again.

Dwight Gayle equalised from the penalty spot before Jason Puncheon scored the winner in a London derby triumph over one of the division's in-form sides, which lifted Palace to 15th in the table.

Burnley also leaped out of the drop zone last weekend courtesy of a 2-1 win over relegation rivals Queens Park Rangers. Both they and Palace are one point above the bottom three ahead of this weekend.

The Clarets could not follow their opponents by claiming the scalp of Spurs in midweek, as they surrendered an early two-goal lead to lose 4-2 at White Hart Lane in their FA Cup third-round replay.

Sean Dyche broke habit by resting several of his key players for the midweek game. Jason Shackell, Dean Marney, George Boyd and six-goal top scorer Danny wings were all left out of the starting lineup.

That quartet should all return as Dyche reverts to the same XI that has set a new Premier League record by going unchanged for seven matches in succession, which have been across only a 34-day period.

Sam Vokes, who scored in the original tie against Spurs and played his first 90 minutes in over nine months on Wednesday, is expected to be on the bench as he continues his recovery from knee ligament damage.

Pardew continues to be without several leading figures as Mile Jedinak and Yannick Bolasie are on international duty. James McArthur has picked up a foot injury and joined Marouane Chamakh on the sidelines.

After making significant impacts off the bench last time out, both Adlene Guedioura and Wilfried Zaha could feature from the first whistle. McArthur's injury should mean that Barry Bannan keeps his place in midfield.

The position of Glenn Murray is more in jeopardy, though, with Gayle's spot kick probably enough for him to warrant selection as the spearhead of the visiting attack ahead of the veteran.

Burnley are unbeaten in five of their last seven home meetings with the Eagles, although five of those have been drawn and the two teams could not be separated in their 0-0 September stalemate either.
