Cardiff City are through to the second round of the League Cup after a 2-1 win over Coventry City on Wednesday evening.
The first half was played at a subdued tempo, with neither team really threatening, but the visitors finished off the one chance of note within the first four minutes.
Guido Burgstaller spun neatly inside the area after holding off a challenge before tucking away a left-footed effort into the bottom corner.
Coventry struggled to get in behind the Championship side and it was a relatively comfortable first 45 minutes for the Welsh side's defence.
The Bluebirds had their second on 81 minutes when Kadeem Harris attacked a dangerous cross to cause Ryan Haynes to turn into his own net.
Steven Pressley's side were back in it moments later when Shaun Miller fired home with a close-range scissor kick after a teasing cross from Haynes.
Andy Webster came close to taking the game to another 30 minutes in stoppage time, but his header went just past the far post as Cardiff held on to book their place in the second round.
