Chelsea will be looking to end an 18-year streak when they square off against AC Milan on Tuesday night.
The Blues and I Rossoneri are meeting for the second time in the space of a week as both clubs bid to move a step closer to qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages.
Last Wednesday, Chelsea produced their best performance since the arrival of Graham Potter, recording a convincing 3-0 victory against the Serie A champions.
The two teams are now locked on four points from three games in Group E, one point adrift of surprise leaders Red Bull Salzburg.
On the back of the most recent display at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are favourites to record a double over Milan to extend their unbeaten streak under Potter to five matches.
However, the West Londoners will need to do something that they have not achieved in 18 years if they are to record maximum points.
Since 2004, Chelsea have not won a single fixture on Italian territory, their last success coming by a 4-0 scoreline against Lazio at Stadio Olimpico.
On that occasion, Hernan Crespo, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Damien Duff and Frank Lampard all got on the scoresheet, the final three goals being netted during the closing 20 minutes.
A total of seven trips to Italy have taken place since that rout, Chelsea managing to post just one draw during that period of games.
That share of the spoils came against Juventus in the last 16 in 2008-09, and a total of five successive defeats have been posted since then.
A 2-1 defeat to Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan occurred at the same stage during the following campaign, before Chelsea went down 3-1 in Napoli in 2012 in what proved to be one of Andre Villas-Boas's final games in charge.
At the back end of that year, Roberto Di Matteo departed soon after a 3-0 reverse at Juventus, while Chelsea were thoroughly outplayed when going down by the same scoreline to Roma in the 2017-18 group stages.
Chelsea last travelled to Italy as recently as last season with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa scoring the only goal of the game during their group fixture in September.
