Juan Pablo Angel rescued a point for Chivas USA against Colorado Rapids in their Major League Soccer clash on Saturday with a late strike that earned the visitors a 1-1 draw.
Colorado surged ahead in the 19th minute through Brian Mullan, who scored with a low drive past visiting goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.
The home side continued to create chances, with Kennedy being forced to smother a long-range effort from Martin Rivero in the 48th minute.
Four minutes later Tony Cascio hit the outside of the left post and after the hour mark Conor Casey came close for Colorado.
However, much against the run of play Chivas eked out the equalier in the 83rd minute.
Tristan Bowen released Angel behind the Colorado defence and the Colombian striker beat Matt Pickens with ease, wrapping up a 1-1 draw in the process.
