Dallas earned their fifth win of the MLS season as they recorded a narrow 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rapids.
The Rapids could have taken the lead in the 20th minute when Deshorn Brown chased a long ball over the top of the home side's defence, but with just Raul Fernandez to beat he fired his shot wide.
Brown did find the net minutes later as he lifted the ball over the top of Fernandez into the net from close range after pouncing on a loose ball inside the box.
Dallas found an equaliser through Jair Benitez when his 35-yard free kick wrong-footed Clinton Irwin and found the back of the net.
The home side took the lead just before the break as Zach Lloyd collected the ball on the right and drove a left-footed volley at goal, which crept under the body of Irwin and trickled over the line.
However, Colorado responded after half time from a Dillon Powers corner as Jose Mari met the ball with a diving header to beat Fernandez from close range.
Dallas almost retook the lead immediately when Benitez raided down the left and lifted a cross into the area for the run of Blas Perez, but the striker's header clattered off the crossbar.
The game became stretched and the Rapids came close to taking the lead themselves as Powers blasted an effort at goal from outside the area, but Fernandez made a great stop to turn the ball over the bar.
Fabian Castillo won the game for his side with a wonderful solo effort as he raided into the box with a mazy run before lifting the ball over Irwin into the top corner.
