Germany and Japan will set out to get their 2022 World Cup campaigns off to a winning note in Wednesday's meeting at the Khalifa International Stadium.

Japan, meanwhile, make the trip to Qatar in search of their best-ever finish at football's biggest event, having never made it past the round of 16 in six previous outings.
