Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed that his newest signing Xherdan Shaqiri is 'not match fit' and will not start their encounter with Genoa on Sunday.
The winger, who has signed on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Bayern Munich, has not played since mid-December and is only likely to make a cameo appearance at the weekend.
Mancini is aware of the Swiss international's fitness and claims that he will be used sparingly.
"I don't think Xherdan Shaqiri is ready to play 45 minutes or even 30," the 50-year-old said, according to Goal.com. "He hasn't played since December."
Inter's other signing Lukas Poldoski is also unlikely to play a pivotal part in the team on Sunday, as the Germany international is also looking to become match fit, after limited playing time at Arsenal.
