Inter Milan have beaten Genoa 3-1 at home to extend their unbeaten run to four matches in Serie A.
The hosts did most of the pressing during the early stages, but the lively Mauro Icardi was denied twice by goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
However, Inter made the breakthrough on 12 minutes when Rodrigo Palacio tapped in the rebound after Icardi's acrobatic volley was saved.
Perin came to Genoa's rescue again midway through the half as he kept out Palacio's effort, only for Icardi to double Inter's lead five minutes before the break by heading in from a corner.
The visitors had a glorious chance to cut the deficit 15 minutes after the restart when Maxime Lestienne found some space inside the box before seeing his drive crash against the crossbar.
Genoa were rewarded for their second-half efforts inside the final five minutes through Armando Izzo's opportunistic strike, but Inter sealed the victory moments later thanks to Nemanja Vidic first goal for the club.
