Duncan Shearer has described Inverness Caledonian Thistle's fans as "terrific" following their 1-0 victory over St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.
The team were beaten 4-0 when they faced the same opponents last month, but a Billy McKay goal secured victory today.
The caretaker manager told Sky Sports News: "I thought the fans were terrific. They knew we were under some pressure at the end and got behind us which was immense.
"I didn't enjoy the game but I was delighted for the back four because they got rubbished about down there last time and they were determined that it wasn't going to happen again today.
"They were backed up by the midfield and of course wee Billy who got the goal for us. He didn't do much for the rest of the game but I'll take that kind of striker any day."
Shearer was placed in temporary charge of the team following Terry Butcher's move to Hibernian earlier this month.
