Juventus have confirmed that centre-back Giorgio Chiellini has picked up a problematic knee injury that will likely see him miss the club's coming clash with Inter Milan.
The veteran defender picked up the injury during the club's 1-0 defeat to Napoli, and the 33-year-old will now face a race to get back fit for some crucial games heading into the end of the Serie A season.
"Today, Giorgio Chiellini underwent medical tests following his early exit from Sunday's match against Napoli," read a statement on the club's official website.
"Following the examinations, in which appropriate caution was taken due to the nature of the injury, it has been revealed that Chiellini suffered a tear to the biceps femoris muscle in his left knee."
The injury could also see the defender potentially miss out on the club's Coppa Italia final against AC Milan on May 9.
