Juventus have moved eight points clear at the top of Serie A courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 victory over Udinese this evening.
The Old Lady took the lead in the 16th minute as Sebastian Giovinco picked up the ball on the edge of the area before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner.
Giovinco almost had a second after 25 minutes when he again aimed for the bottom corner, but this time the keeper was equal to it and pushed the ball behind.
Juventus doubled their lead from the resulting corner, however, as Udinese failed to deal with the danger before the ball fell to Fernando Llorente, who poked it into an unguarded net from close range.
The visitors almost wrapped the points up with 20 minutes left as Giovinco latched on to a pass inside the box before firing an effort towards goal that came back off the post.
Udinese produced a late flurry to threaten the Juventus goal as Maurizio Domizzi made his way past a number of defenders before finding space to shoot, but Gianluigi Buffon got down well to save his effort.
Buffon was beaten in stoppage time as Luis Muriel produced a snapshot from inside the area, but the hosts were denied by the upright as Juventus took another step towards retaining the title.
