A goal from Mirco Antenucci has given Leeds United a 1-0 advantage over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the halfway point of their Championship clash at Elland Road.
After the home side had made the initial running, Wolves came back into the game with David Edwards having a header clear the crossbar from a corner.
Leeds responded through Steve Morison, who was making his first start for Leeds in 18 months, but after Carl Ikeme had parried his shot away, Wolves went up the other end as Lee Evans saw his weak effort easily saved.
However, the Whites took the lead on 18 minutes through Italian forward Antenucci, who collected the ball off Morison before firing the ball across goal and into the far corner for his fourth of the campaign.
Wolves were quiet in the final third and that was allowing Leeds to maintain the pressure on the visitors. A neat move involving Antenucci and Morison ended with Alex Mowatt miscuing at the vital moment.
Kenny Jackett's team were having the majority of the ball, but Leeds continued to carve out the better openings and they came within a yard of doubling their advantage through Tommaso Bianchi, whose header just evaded the post.
However, Wolves ended the half strongly, and after Michael Jacobs had twice failed to equalise in the space of five minutes, a low shot from James Henry forced goalkeeper Marco Silvestri into a smart stop just before the interval.
