Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has been nominated for January's Manager of the Month award in the Championship.

Redfearn helped to guide Leeds away from the drop zone with eight points from a possible 12. Their most impressive victory came with a 1-0 win over leaders Bournemouth.

Aitor Karanka joins him on the shortlist as his high-flying Middlesbrough side ended the month unbeaten to keep their promotion push on track.

Brentford's Mark Warburton is also among the nominees following three wins out of four games for the Bees, while Derby County manager Steve McClaren completes the list of candidates after the Rams picked up nine points out of 12 without conceding a goal.

The winner of the award is due to be announced on Friday.
