Leicester City midfielder James Maddison is reportedly set to return to the squad for Tuesday's Premier League clash with Leeds United at Elland Road.
Maddison was unavailable for Saturday's Premier League home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers after falling ill on Friday night.
Posting on Instagram, Maddison wrote: "Sickness bug overnight. Devastated to miss today's big game. Come on lads we've got this."
In Maddison's absence, the Foxes came from behind to claim a crucial 2-1 home victory over Wolves, ending their nine-game winless league run.
Matheus Cunha opened the scoring for the visitors, but the sides went into half time on level terms after Kelechi Iheanacho restored parity from the penalty spot.
With 15 minutes remaining, Victor Kristiansen's low cross found the run of Timothy Castagne, who produced a composed finish to give Leicester the lead.
Castagne's first goal since the opening day of the season proved to be the winner, and the 2-1 victory moved the Foxes out of the drop zone.
After his first win as Leicester boss, Smith hinted that Maddison could be involved against Leeds with the England international expected to return to training on Monday.
Speaking to the BBC, Smith said: "The doctor told me this morning. Hopefully, he will be fit to train on Monday. He was one of the first to get me just then."
The Leicester boss also stated that he was pleased with the attitude that his side showed to come from a goal down and claim all three points.
"We have got a big week but that gives everyone a lift, confidence and belief," Smith added.
"We have got another tough game at Elland Road. People have questioned our spirit but it was there to see today."
The Foxes are currently sitting outside the relegation zone due to their superior goal difference over Everton.
Smith's side will face the Toffees on May 1, but first, they must focus on a tough away game against another relegation rival.
Leeds are one point better off than Leicester, who will be looking to complete a league double after beating the Yorkshire club 2-0 in October. body check tags ::
