Two teams level on 18 points will face off when Liverpool Women welcome Tottenham Hotspur Ladies to Prenton Park for Sunday's Women's Super League contest.
The Reds are looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats, while Spurs will want to return to winning ways following a loss to Manchester City last weekend.
Match preview
Liverpool are still searching for their first WSL points of 2024 after losing to Manchester City and Arsenal in their opening two league fixtures of the calendar year.
The Reds fell to a heavy 5-1 defeat in their away meeting with the Citizens, before they lost 2-0 to the Gunners last weekend following second-half goals from Vivianne Miedema and Caitlin Foord.
While they may have come up short against two title contenders, Liverpool can be pleased with their overall efforts this season, having picked up 18 points to leave them in fifth place after 12 matches.
With the Reds looking to return to winning ways against Spurs, they can draw inspiration from the fact that they currently have the fourth-best home record in the division, with their six home league games producing three wins, one draw and two defeats.
They also enjoyed success in their most recent home meeting with Tottenham in March 2023 when they came from behind to clinch a narrow 2-1 victory.
After beginning 2024 with three consecutive victories in all competitions, Spurs fell to their first defeat of the calendar in last weekend's home meeting with title-chasing Manchester City.
An Amy Turner own goal and a Bunny Shaw strike condemned Tottenham to a 2-1 defeat, ensuring that they remained in sixth place and behind Liverpool on goal difference.
While they may be in the top half of the table, Spurs still need to shore up their backline, having conceded 25 goals in 12 league matches to leave them with the fourth-worst defensive record in the division.
Tottenham have at least developed a habit of picking up points on their travels, with their last five away league games producing three wins, one draw and one defeat.
They will look to draw upon their success on the road as they set out to claim their first away win over Liverpool in the WSL.

We say: Liverpool Women 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
With Liverpool and Spurs currently level on 18 points, we think that the two closely-matched teams could cancel each other out, which is why we believe they may have to settle for a share of the spoils in Sunday's fixture at Prenton Park.
