Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League Merseyside derby with Everton on Saturday.
Sports Mole

The first Merseyside derby of the 2022-23 season takes place at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime, as Everton play host to bitter rivals Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's side come into the clash on the back of a dramatic late 2-1 win over Newcastle United in midweek, with Fabio Carvalho netting the decisive goal in the eighth minute of second-half injury time.

The Reds currently occupy fifth spot in the Premier League table before Manchester United face Leicester City on Thursday night, but the treatment room is still full to the brim.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Toffees, who drew 1-1 with Leeds United in midweek.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 3 (vs. Everton)

Caoimhin Kelleher is yet to make an appearance this season due to a groin injury, but he has since taken part in normal goalkeeper training and could be fit enough for a spot on the bench here.

Diogo Jota

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 3 (vs. Everton)

Klopp affirmed before the win over Newcastle that he was confident of Diogo Jota's chances of returning to training on Thursday following a hamstring injury, which could therefore put him in contention for a place in the squad at the weekend.

Ibrahima Konate

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ibrahima Konate is still on the comeback trail after suffering a knee injury against Strasbourg in pre-season, and a return to training after the international break has been pencilled in for the Frenchman.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 10 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Thiago Alcantara came off with a hamstring issue in the 2-2 draw with Fulham on the opening weekend of the season and was initially feared to be facing six weeks on the sidelines, but there is a chance he could return for the meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 10.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

The injury-plagued Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continues to work his way back from a serious hamstring injury, and the ex-Arsenal man is still some weeks away from touching the turf again.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Naby Keita - another midfielder who has struggled to stay fit during his time at Anfield - has now failed to make three consecutive matchday squads due to a muscular problem, and he will also be out for a while.

Jordan Henderson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Things have gone from bad to worse in the Liverpool midfield after Jordan Henderson came off with a hamstring injury after 71 minutes in the win over Newcastle, and Klopp has ruled the Englishman out of the derby.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match, as Darwin Nunez prepares to return to the fold following his three-match ban, but new loan signing Arthur will not feature as he awaits international clearance.
