Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that the 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen could be vital in Manchester City's bid to progress in the Champions League.
Despite beginning their European campaign with a routine win, Pellegrini was also eager to insist that City wouldn't necessarily be concentrating on the competition just because of their recent disappointments.
"We know the Champions League is very difficult and there are no easy games. The players know that and the players will try their best in every match," the Chilean told Sky Sports News.
"We don't have a priority. We all know that Manchester City didn't play well in the last Champions League but I think the Premier League is also very important.
"Winning away in the Champions League is very important. Those three points might be very important in getting to next round."
City are level with Bayern Munich at the top of Group D following the German side's 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow.
