A poll carried out by a local newspaper has indicated that Norwich City supporters would like to see Russell Martin appointed as the club's new captain.
The responsibility at Carrow Road is currently vacant following Grant Holt's departure to Wigan Athletic earlier this summer.
The Eastern Daily Press asked fans who should be handed the role and "nearly 50%" voted in favour of defender Russell, who recently extended his contract with the Norfolk-based outfit.
Sebastien Bassong was the second choice, while there was little to choose between the other candidates, which included goalkeeper John Ruddy and midfielder Bradley Johnson.
